The challenge that I faced when the time to attach the legs of the chair to the seat base was that there was no way to screw or nail the leg piece on to the side of the pallet. This was because the wood of the legs is oak wood, which is a very strong wood, and is very thick, and would be extremely and unlikely that you could drill or nail all the way through it with out causing the wood to crack. My dad came up with the idea of attaching a square piece of a 2X4 piece of wood to the inside of the leg piece, and then wedging it in between the pallet wood and drilling through that in order to attach the legs. I began this process by cutting the 2X4 with a circular saw, which was more difficult than using the table saw like a had done previously, is was hard to cut the pieces straight at a 90 degree angle. There were several of my attempts that were not straight, that I could not use. In order to make it easier to drill into the tough oak wood, I used a drill and a drill bit that was slightly smaller around than the screws I used to first drill a whole through the wood, this was also because if you do not do this it is more likely that a slight space would be left between the two piece you are attaching.
